The
Handley Home & School Association (HHSA)
Goal
The goals of the HHSA are to provide a mechanism for parents to learn about the
school and become active in school affairs. The HHSA promotes parental involvement
and provides funding for educational opportunities for students.
Membership
All parents or legal guardians with children in school are members. A nominal
fee per family is requested. Each parent or guardian present at a meeting shall
have a vote. The Principal and staff liaison representative are also entitled
to one vote each.
Meetings shall be established by the membership. The executive board shall meet
when called by the President.
Except as provided by these bylaws, an act of the majority by all members present
and voting shall be the act of the HHSA. Minutes of
the meeting and notices shall be published and distributed to all members.
Officers
The officers shall consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
They shall form the Executive Committee along with the Principal. Officers shall
be elected at the last HHSA meeting of the school year by a majority of members
present. The term of office shall be one year. If a vacancy occurs in the office
of Presidnet, the Vice President shall assume the Presidentcy. A new Vice President
shall then be elected.
Committees
The HHSA may create committees to promote the goals and carry on the work of
the association. The HHSA shall appoint a chairperson and that chairperson shall
report to the membership.
The regular and executive committee meetings shall be conducted using Roberts'
