PROGRAM OF INQUIRY
The Program of Inquiry is a matrix made up of the six transdisciplinary
themes running vertically, and the age groups running horizontally. Organizing
the curriculum around the six transdisciplinary themes provides a context
for learning. It enables students to experience a balance of subject-specific
knowledge, concepts and skills in order to develop an understanding of
the transdisciplinary themes. Students inquire into, and learn about,
globally significant issues in the context of the units of inquiry, each
of which addresses a central idea relevant to a particular transdiciplinary
theme. Lines of inquiry are identified in order to explore the scope
of the central idea for each unit. These units collectively constitute
the school’s programme of inquiry.
Each grade has six units
of inquiry every year which last from four to six weeks.
