Software that is to be loaded onto the IBMs generally
takes 4-6 weeks to thoroughly test and implement the software.
Software to meet district curriculum will be loaded once a decision
has been made by the IT lead teachers on which software will meet
the IT benchmarks. All other software will be reviewed to make
sure we do not currently already support a similar product.
- NEW Anti-virus
package for
laptop users. The District's license for Trend Micro's PC-cillian
anti-virus package has expired. Employees using this application
on their home PCs will no longer receive automatic scan file
updates. This update replaces PC-Cillian.
To ensure continued anti-virus protection for your system
you must REMOVE Trend Micro's PC-cillian
from your PC's control panel using the add/remove programs
applet
and then install
a licensed anti-virus package.
The District has licensed a new anti-virus package from Sophos
for home use by employees. To install this package:
- Ensure
that any existing anti-virus package has been removed
from your PC
- Download
the software to your computer via the following link:
Windows 2000 and XP
http://www.spsd.net/Sophos/SophosInst.exe
Windows 95, 98, and ME systems
http://www.spsd.net/sophos/SophosInst9x.exe
- You will be prompted for a
user name and password

- Double click on SophosInst.exe and follow the
prompts
Software
for Home
If you have a Teacher Workstation in your classroom
you can obtain a take-home copy of Microsoft Office 2000 for
your home computer. You will need to verify it with the Asset Manager
and fill out the form below. Once verified you will be emailed
your confirmation and can come to the ISDC to pick up the software.
