New courses required by the Michigan Department of Education for Teachers

CMU in Saginaw plans to run the following required reading classes
THIS Summer 2010 if there is enough interest:

EDU 603 - Elementary Diagnosis, Remediation and Differentiation of Reading Instruction and/or
EDU 606 - Secondary Advanced Reading Diagnosis and Instruction

These are the new courses required by the Michigan Department of Education for
teachers who did not have their professional certification by 6/30/2009.

Twelve (12) plus students are required in order for us to run each course. We are asking
that you please share this information with anyone you know who may need the elementary
or secondary course to fulfill the reading requirement.
If interested, please contact CMU Saginaw Center at saginaw@cmich.edu or call 989-790-0200 by

April 15th with the following information:
1.    Name
2.    Contact phone number
3.    Elementary or secondary class
A timely response is very important so that we may move forward with scheduling one or
both of these courses for Summer 2010. Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter.

Temple Theatre Current Events

Step Into the Sandbox: Attention Parents, Educators, & Friends-Many of us know that
Michigan is currently in deep financial crisis and many programs and services are on the verge of
being cut. The responsibility of restoring Michigan will fall to a new Governor and a new crop
of legislators. We need to educate these new legislators about the positive economic impact of investing in early childhood programs in an effort to rebuild our state.
