Camp Invention- Unleashing Creative Genius One Child At A Time

Greetings Saginaw Public Staff Members!

Click Here for Flyer & Registration---Please post & distribute!

Camp Invention is back! As you know, creativity and brainstorming are the building blocks to your child's future! Camp Invention® emphasizes those skills and more! Loomis Math, Science and Technology Academy is proud to be among the select schools in Michigan that will serve as a host site during the week of July 25-29, 2011. If you are a full-time district employee, you will receive a special $30 discount for your children. This makes your price only $185! You will need to contact me to obtain the necessary Host District registration form. This discount is good all season until the camp fills, but our camp fills every year, so register now or you may miss out.

Children will create exciting new games and transform ordinary household items into extraordinary inventions during this weeklong summer adventure for those currently in grades K-5 (or entering 1-6 in the fall of 2011). Children will participate daily in five activity-oriented, hands-on modules focused on science literacy, math, history and the arts. There is also a heavy emphasis on the STEM subjects (Science, technology, engineering and math).

I will be directing the camp and local teachers will teach the five modules. High school and college students will be hired to serve as camp counselors. The camp features a low staff-to-participant ratio of 1:8.

Registration for this camp is limited to 110 children, so register early. Contact me at 399-6585 or cdillard@spsd.net to receive the Host District Registration Form or for more information. You may also visit Camp Invention's Web site at www.campinvention.org to find out more about this exciting and fun program.
