How You Can Support
As exciting as this is, it is just the first step. Planning for the future is crucial. To
this end, an endowment fund has been created through the Ssginaw Community
Foundation, an endowment in perpetuity. This fund will use the interest income to
supplement what comes back from the state. The "College Fund of the SCF" has been
created . This is the "long term" fund which will support, strengthen, and supplement the
Saginaw Promise after the first few years.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR SAGINAW PROMISE
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
To date the Saginaw Public School District has provided staff support and in-
kinds services to the Saginaw Promise Zone Authority Board. Individuals,
business leaders, the Saginaw Community Foundation and Saginaw Public Schools
Foundation have been active for several years in providing scholarship
opportunities for Saginaw Public Schools graduates. Most of the scholarship
awards have been endowed and administered through the Saginaw Community
Foundation. Significant efforts to obtain major contributions to endow a
Saginaw Promise initiative had been ongoing by a small group of concerned
citizens that called themselves the City of Hope. The efforts to obtain
significant contributions from private sources to be held with the Saginaw
Community Foundation to endow the Saginaw Promise Program continue.
In order to initiate the first two years of Saginaw Promise Scholarships to be
awarded by the Saginaw Promise Zone Authority Board with private funding as
required in the legislation, a fund-raising campaign will be launched by the
Saginaw Promise Zone Authority Board in January 2011. All awards in 2012 and
2013 will be made from private funding sources contributed to the Saginaw
Promise Zone Authority Board
