Meet the Principals

Greetings Arthur Hill Families and Saginaw Community!

My name Kasydra J. Goode-Tibbs and I am the principal at Arthur Hill High School. My initial experience with Saginaw Public School was in the mid-1990’s, when  I completed my student teaching at North Middle Middle School and the Saginaw Career Complex. Upon graduation from Central Michigan University, I accepted my first contracted teaching positon with Detroit Public Schools. After teaching high school for a few years, I taught at an opening charter school for two years. In 1999 I returned to Saginaw Public Schools working as an academic coordinator for a year before becoming the foreign language instructor at the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy. In 2001, I completed my master’s degree in Secondary Education at Saginaw Valley State University.  I enjoyed teaching middle and high school Spanish at SASA for 15 years before becoming the Assistant Principal, serving in that role 6 years.  I am grateful to have had varied experiences to educate students and grow as an educator over the past 25 years. I believe that these experiences have prepared me well for my new role at Arthur Hill High School.

I currently live in Saginaw with my husband and three children. My husband is a crimminal defense attorney and he adjuncts at SVSU. My children have all attended Saginaw Public Schools as we value this district and community. I am a proud mother and have loved watching my children do what they love, which ranges from playing football and piano with my eldest, to swim meets and tennis matches with my youngest son, to dance recitals and competitions with my daughter. We are a close-knit family and enjoy spending as much time together as this busy life allows.  My children are my greatest joy.

It is so exciting to be the principal of Arthur Hill High School and serve the students and familes of this community!  The staff and I are invested in providing students with a high quality education that will equip and prepare them for their future. We offer an enriched curriculum, including, but not limited to, Advanced Placement coursework, SAT prep courses, and dual-enrollment at local colleges and universities and at the Saginaw Career Complex. In addition, we offer remediation and support through credit recovery in order to meet all student needs. Our comprehensive program meets and exceeds academic requirements and allows students to participate in a variety of sports and extracurricular activities.

I am looking forward to developing a strong, productive partnership with families and the community to best support the Lumberjack students that we serve, academically and socio-emotionally. My commitment is to build upon the already solid academic foundation at Arthur Hill while continually expanding the growth mindset of our students, modeling and building within them resilience, integrity, and tenacity.  I am looking forward to working with you.  Let’s make it a magnificent school year!

My name is Jason LaPorte and this will be my first year as an assistant principal at Arthur Hill High School. Most of my 17 years in education have been at Arthur Hill including when I student taught there in 2003. I also had stints at South Middle School, Thompson Middle School, and Saginaw High in which I taught everything in the Social Studies discipline. My wife Amie and I have 3 fun, energetic, and busy kids; Chase (9), Alexis (5) and Bo (1). I look forward to the upcoming school year!
