Alanah Baldwin

For Alanah Baldwin, learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door.

At the Saginaw Career Complex, she’s part of the Animal & Agriculture Science program—where students don’t just study science, they experience it. From understanding animal care to exploring plant and soil science, Alanah is gaining hands-on knowledge in an industry that touches everyday life.

Agriculture is one of Michigan’s largest industries, and the opportunities within it continue to grow. Through SCC’s program, students like Alanah are introduced to a wide range of careers—from environmental science and agronomy to business and animal production—helping them see what’s possible beyond high school.

The program also gives students a chance to build real-world skills and leadership experience through FFA, a national organization for agriscience students. With opportunities for competition, teamwork, and even college credit through Michigan State University, students are preparing for both college and careers.

For Alanah, it’s about more than learning—it’s about discovering a future.
