SASA named Best High School by U.S. News and World Report

The Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy (SASA) has again been recognized among the best schools in the nation, earning a Top 100 national ranking and the #4 spot in Michigan in the 2025–2026 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools list.

Superintendent Dr. Ramont M. Roberts celebrated the achievement, saying:

“I am incredibly proud of the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy, as it has again been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best schools in the country. This distinction reflects the exceptional dedication of our students, the expertise and commitment of our educators, and the unwavering support of our families and community.”

SASA placed #83 nationally out of nearly 18,000 schools evaluated across the country. The Best High Schools rankings are based on state assessment performance, graduation rates, and college readiness indicators.

With an 85% Advanced Placement® (AP) participation rate, SASA students continue to excel academically while preparing for higher education.

“What makes S.A.S.A. especially remarkable is its unique ability to pair rigorous, advanced academics with a world-class performing arts program,” Dr. Roberts said. “It is the only school in our region that truly nurtures both intellectual excellence and artistic talent at such a high level, offering students opportunities to grow as scholars, innovators, and creative leaders.”

SASA consistently produces strong outcomes, earning recognition as a U.S. News Best High School and eligibility to display the 2025–2026 award badge.

Dr. Roberts emphasized the broader meaning of this accomplishment.

“This recognition affirms what we have long known—that S.A.S.A. is not only a place of learning, but also a place where young people are inspired to achieve their fullest potential in every dimension of their lives,” he said. “I congratulate our entire school community on this outstanding accomplishment, and I look forward to all the ways our students will continue to shine on both the academic and artistic stage.”
