The Saginaw Public School District is proud to celebrate two of our own who are being recognized as Young Professionals by the Saginaw NAACP at its 54th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet.
Christian Garrett, Behavioral Interventionist at Thompson Middle School, and Jasmine Calhoun, Trustee with the Saginaw School District’s Board of Education, will be honored for their leadership and service to the community.
Garrett, a 2016 graduate of Arthur Hill High School, has dedicated eight years of service to the district.
Calhoun, a 2007 graduate of Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy (SASA), was elected to the Board of Education in November 2024.
“The Freedom Fund Celebration is an opportunity for our community to come together, honor leadership and service, and reaffirm our shared commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive Saginaw,” said Freedom Fund Chair Canika Owen-Robinson. “We are proud to recognize the Young Professionals and Saginaw Heroes whose dedication and impact inspire us all.”
The 54th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet will be held Sunday, Sept. 28, at 4:30 p.m. at Horizon’s Conference Center, 6200 State Street, Saginaw Township.
The district congratulates Christian Garrett and Jasmine Calhoun on this outstanding achievement and thanks them for their continued dedication to our students and community.
