Saginaw Public Schools proudly celebrates Tiffany L. Pruitt, Executive Director of Human Resources & Labor Relations, who was honored with the 2025 YWCA Great Lakes Bay Region Women of Achievement Award in Arts & Education. The ceremony, held at Saginaw Valley State University, recognized outstanding women making a difference across the region.
With more than 20 years of service to Saginaw Public Schools, Pruitt’s leadership has advanced innovation, equity, and community engagement districtwide. She began her career as a substitute teacher and now leads the district’s human resources, labor relations, and Title IX efforts.
Highlights and Accomplishments
Led SPSD to become Michigan’s first district approved for a Registered Teacher Apprentice Program by the U.S. Department of Labor
Guided the district’s HR and labor relations through the COVID-19 pandemic
Founded the SPS Family & Community Engagement Empowerment Center, which continues to serve local families
Recipient of the Johns Hopkins University National Network of Partnership Schools District Leadership Award (2017, 2018)
Contributor to Harvard Education Press publication Creating Safe, Equitable, Engaging Schools (2018)
Heart of the City Leadership Award recipient (2024)
