Janae Bady

The Saginaw Public Schools Board of Education appointed Dr. Janae T. Bady as a new board member during a special meeting on Monday, Jan. 26, filling the vacancy created by the passing of Board Member Kevin M. Rooker on Jan. 1.

Rooker was elected to a 6-year term on the Board of Education in November 2022 and was sworn in as a member in January 2023.

Dr. Bady works at Central Michigan University School of Health Sciences, Division of Public Health.

The Board interviewed five candidates during a public selection process. Following these interviews, the Board voted to appoint Dr. Bady to serve in the open seat.

Bady will serve until the election in November when she would have to run for the remainder of Rooker’s elected term through 2028 and will participate in all upcoming board meetings, committees, and district governance responsibilities.

Saginaw Public Schools extends its appreciation to all applicants for their willingness to serve!
