The Saginaw United Phoenix boys basketball team saw its postseason run come to an end Tuesday night, falling to the Rockford Rams 68–45 in the MHSAA regional semifinal on March 3.
While the regional loss closes the season, the Phoenix made history earlier in the tournament by capturing the Division 1 district championship.
Under the leadership of head coach Julian Taylor, the team delivered a memorable season, highlighted by strong play throughout the regular season and a successful postseason run that energized the school community.
Winning the district championship marked an important milestone for the program and for the new high school, as the team established itself as a competitive presence in Division 1 basketball.
