
The Saginaw United Phoenix girls varsity basketball team saw its season come to an end Friday night after falling to the Heritage Hawks 72–34 in the MHSAA District Championship game.
While the loss ended the Phoenix’s playoff run, the team’s appearance in the district title game capped off a strong season and highlighted the continued growth of the program.
Under the leadership of head coach Eugene Seals, Jr., the Phoenix competed throughout the season with determination and teamwork, earning the opportunity to play for a district championship and representing Saginaw United with pride.
The district championship appearance marked another important milestone for the relatively new Saginaw United program, as student-athletes continue building a competitive tradition both on and off the court.
Saginaw Public Schools congratulates Coach Seals and the Phoenix players on their hard work, perseverance, and commitment throughout the season.
