Saginaw Public Schools is proud to announce that Mrs. Monica McCoury has been selected as the new Principal of Zilwaukee Elementary.
Mrs. McCoury brings extensive experience in elementary education, instructional leadership, and supporting student achievement. She began her career as a teacher at Merrill Park Elementary and has since served in several instructional and leadership roles throughout her career.
Most recently, Mrs. McCoury served as an Instructional Coach, partnering with teachers and school leaders across Saginaw Public Schools to strengthen classroom instruction and improve learning experiences for students.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Mathematics from Saginaw Valley State University and her master’s degree in Educational Administration from Michigan State University. She also holds a Michigan School Administrator Certification.
Mrs. McCoury is excited to become part of the Zilwaukee Elementary community and looks forward to building strong relationships with students, staff, and families. Her experience, dedication, and commitment to teaching and learning will be a valuable addition to the school.
