It's Wellness Wednesday. Here are handwashing and other tips to help prevent the spread of viruses. Beyond practicing proper hand hygiene, families can take simple, everyday precautions to help prevent the spread of germs and respiratory viruses. Reduce your risk of getting sick or spreading illness by: -Avoiding close contact with people who are sick -Not touching your eyes, nose and mouth -Staying home when you are not feeling well -Coughing into your elbow and covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when sneezing (throw tissue into the trash after sneezing) -Disinfecting surfaces with household cleaning sprays or wipes

Saginaw’s public school districts are piloting Step Up & BWell, a program encouraging students (as well as staff and teachers) to develop healthy exercise and eating habits. Guided by health resource advocates (HRAs) in each district, schools will compete with one another for bragging rights and tangible incentives by tracking their exercise and earning “stars” for other healthy behaviors such as eating fruits and vegetables and avoiding sugary beverages and junk food.
Students are watching the “leader board” on the Step Up & BWell app. Incentive prizes are awarded to top teams quarterly. Click the link to register. https://stepup.bwellsaginaw.org/register
