Elementary Division II student artists were proudly recognized during the 2026 SPSD Cultural Art Exhibition Awards Ceremony for their outstanding creativity, artistic skill, and celebration of Saginaw’s diverse cultures and communities through the arts.
Congratulations to the student artists from Handley Elementary, Loomis MST Academy Elementary, Jessie Rouse Elementary, Kempton Elementary, and Stone Elementary for representing their schools with creativity, pride, and imagination.
A special thank you to Ms. Price and Ms. Connors for supporting, encouraging, and uplifting the artistic voices of their students. We also extend our appreciation to Principal Heyl, Principal Wamback, and the classroom teachers who helped support student participation in the exhibition.

Our first graders recently performed their musical, "Hansel and Gretel Eat Right!", and did a wonderful job! Through the performance, students shared what they’ve learned about making healthy choices, including nutrition, the importance of exercise, and good hygiene habits. It was a fun and engaging way for them to demonstrate their knowledge and confidence on stage. Way to go, first grade! Also, we are so proud of our teachers who teach these students how to be in the play. #1stgrade #ibschool #handleyhornets

Last night’s Elementary Flag Football Playoff Celebration was a great example of what happens when our community shows up for our students.
From the games on the field to the energy in the stands, it was a night filled with excitement, teamwork, and support. We were proud to have community partners like H.E.L.P., Team Loyalty, and the Michigan Arsenal arena football team join us—connecting with students, signing autographs, and adding to the experience.
A big thank you as well to T&T Authentic Mexican Cuisine for keeping everyone fed and energized throughout the evening.
Most importantly, our student-athletes showed what hard work, discipline, and teamwork look like.
