Our 2nd graders enjoyed learning about the Scientific Method (Science), Graphic Organizers (Math), and conducting a Scientific Experiment (known as "The Water Drop Lab") on Friday, Feb. 20th with Dr. G. The students had a little help from "Chocolate and Vanilla" -- Two furry little friends who love to ask BIG Questions and then need some help from the students to help answer them!!!

Did you know that a little generosity goes a long way? 💛 Our PreK program is so thankful for recent parent donations — Connect Four, uniquely shaped hole punches, envelopes, glue, cups, hole punchers, cardstock, and more. These supplies already bring smiles, hands-on learning, and creative projects to our classroom. A huge THANK YOU to HHSA for sharing our wish lists, and to everyone who checked them out. You all helped make learning more fun! What donations have made a difference in your child’s classroom? 🎨✂️📚

✨ Celebrating World Hijab Day at Handley!🧕🏽💛
In honor of World Hijab Day (February 1st), our Handley kindergarten and third-grade students had the special opportunity to learn about hijabs from a wonderful guest speaker. Students discovered that the hijab is not only a piece of clothing, but also a symbol of dignity, strength, faith, and identity.
Through meaningful conversations and learning experiences, our students were reminded that our diversity makes us stronger and that understanding one another helps build a more caring and united school community. 🌎🤝
A heartfelt thank you to our parent volunteer for sharing their time, knowledge, and culture with us. We are so grateful for partnerships that help our students grow in empathy, respect, and appreciation for others.
At Handley, we celebrate every story, every culture, and every student — because together, our differences make us shine!✨💙

Hey Handley Hornets!
From February 3rd to February 13th, we are collecting items for children in Foster Families. The items will be donated to the Foster Families Navigation & Resource Center. This is an amazing organization that helps families with access to items during & in some cases after foster care as well.
Each hallway wing will have a basket where students can place items to be donated.
Lastly, students who donate items will be eligible for a HERO ticket & then a drawing.
