Saginaw Public Schools is celebrating another major accomplishment by the Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy (SASA) robotics team, Pantheon 5193, following an impressive performance at the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, Texas.
Competing against elite teams from around the globe, Pantheon delivered one of the strongest performances in program history during the international competition.
After finishing qualification matches in 12th place on the Curie Field, Pantheon was selected as the first pick of Alliance 5 by Team 7028 Binary Battalion from Minnesota. Their alliance also included Team 3197 Hex Hounds from Wisconsin and Team 2992 The S.S. Promethious from Louisiana.
Alliance 5 advanced all the way to the semifinals before being eliminated just short of the finals in Match 13.
Pantheon returns home ranked:
#6 in Michigan
#63 in the world out of 3,724 teams
The performance marked significant growth for the team compared to previous appearances on the world stage and capped another historic season for SASA robotics.
Earlier this year, Pantheon qualified for the World Championship for the second consecutive season after a standout performance at the Michigan State Championship at Saginaw Valley State University. The team also earned major recognition throughout the season, including district event victories and prestigious awards for leadership and impact.
Pantheon’s continued success reflects the dedication of its students, coaches, mentors, families, and supporters, as well as the growing impact of STEM education opportunities within Saginaw Public Schools.
Saginaw Public Schools congratulates Pantheon 5193 on an unforgettable season and another outstanding representation of the Saginaw community on the global stage.
