Saginaw Public School District is proud to announce Mr. Derrick Wyatt as the assistant principal at Saginaw United High School.
Mr. Wyatt is a dedicated educator and dynamic leader whose impact spans more than 15 years across elementary, middle, and high school settings.
Mr. Wyatt holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University. Certified in Mathematics and Science, he has served in numerous instructional roles—including Alternative Education Teacher, Strategic Title I Teacher, Academic Intervention Program Specialist, In-School Suspension Teacher, and Behavior Interventionist.
Most recently, Mr. Wyatt served as assistant principal at Thompson Middle School, where he was known for his steady leadership and deep commitment to student success.
Beyond the classroom, Mr. Wyatt has contributed to building strong, inclusive school cultures through his work as a Cultural Competency Trainer, PBIS Coach, and Restorative Practices Trainer.
His passion for enrichment and engagement is equally evident in his service as a Robotics Advisor, After-School STEM Mentor, and Football Coach.
Mr. Wyatt’s blend of academic expertise, cultural leadership, and student-centered advocacy makes him a trusted and transformative figure within Saginaw Public Schools.
