The Saginaw United High School boys basketball team made history on Tuesday, December 2, hosting Detroit Catholic Central High School for their first game on the brand-new court at the Saginaw United Fieldhouse—and what a debut it was! The Phoenix soared to victory, defeating Catholic Central 67-57 in an electrifying matchup that showcased grit, teamwork, and determination.

Catholic Central led 28-25 at halftime, but United stormed out of the break with a 24-point third quarter, taking a 49-43 lead into the fourth. The Phoenix sealed the win by outscoring Catholic Central 18-13 in the final period.

  • Dionquavius Hardy led the charge with 23 points, 7 assists, and 5 steals.

  • Lemonte Ramon-Wiley, a transfer from Saginaw Heritage, added 20 points, including four 3-pointers.

  • Terrell General dominated the paint with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots.
