The Saginaw Public School District is proud to celebrate Ahnyala Eichelberger, a senior at Saginaw United High School, who has been selected as one of this year's McDonald's Black History Makers of Tomorrow recipients. This distinguished honor recognizes outstanding students who embody leadership, scholarship, community involvement, and the spirit of positive change.
Ahnyala was chosen by the local McDonald's Owner/Operators of Michigan as Saginaw United's nominee for the award. Each year, the organization invites area high schools to identify one exceptional senior who reflects the values of McDonald's Black & Positively Golden initiative, an effort that uplifts youth who demonstrate excellence in education, diversity, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.
As part of this recognition, Ahnyala will receive a $1,000 scholarship prize, supporting her future education and continued success.
Special Media Recognition
In addition to the scholarship, Ahnyala will be featured in a live studio interview on WJRT-TV (ABC 12) in Flint during a morning news segment. This opportunity allows the community to learn more about her achievements, goals, and the leadership that helped her earn this prestigious honor.
Upcoming Award Presentation
The local McDonald's Owner/Operator will also visit Saginaw United in February to present the award in person, celebrating Ahnyala alongside her family, teachers, classmates, and school staff. Following the presentation, her story will be shared through McDonald's media partners and social media platforms, highlighting her accomplishment regionally and beyond. The district will also share updates through its own communication channels so that the entire SPSD community can join in recognizing her success.
A Shining Example
Ahnyala's recognition as a Black History Maker of Tomorrow reflects her hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. The Saginaw Public School District congratulates her on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to celebrating her continued growth and future accomplishments.
Congratulations, Ahnyala! Your district is proud of you.
