Good afternoon.
- It has been determined by state and local fire investigators that the fire was caused by careless disposal of sawdust by a flooring contractor
-The floors at the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy were being sanded by a flooring contractor on Saturday, November 16, 2024 as part of the bond work
-Although the fire did not enter the interior of the building, several areas were impacted by smoke and soot exposure
Therefore, the following are next steps for the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy:
1. Servpro will continue the cleaning and restoration services that will fully restore all of the impacted areas of the building for safe occupancy.
2. The cleaning and restoration services will be completed by Monday, December 2nd, 2024.
3. Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy will continue with an online learning schedule through Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
4. The school will reopen on Monday, December 2, 2024.
