SASA 11th grade Economics students have been using project-based learning to understand market structures. Think tank teams designed their own board games to demonstrate their mastery of oligopoly, monopolistic competition, and perfect competition. These creative and knowledgeable inquirers wrapped up with a game day, testing each other's products and playing the hour away before spring break!

Over the past two weeks, Miss Walsh’s 7th grade ELA students have dived deep into the world of epidemics! In this hands-on unit, each student group became experts on a different epidemic, taking over a class period to teach their peers. Today marked the beginning of a working partnership between SASA and the Central Michigan University College of Medicine. Professors and medical students from CMU joined our science teaching staff to present a two-hour workshop on the human eye. The workshop included a dissection of a cow eye, lessons on eye pathology, hands-on exploration of lens optics, and an informative Q&A session with the med students. We are looking forward to hosting future events with the CMU team including job shadowing, panel discussions, and workshops on other organs.
