Anti-Violence Rally at Saginaw United (Nov. 1)

Anti-violence rally

Saginaw United High School hosted an anti-violence rally focused on student empowerment, safe decision-making, and community unity. Students, families, district staff, and local partners came together with one shared message: our students deserve safety, hope, and opportunity.

SPSDs students and families joined regional youth-serving organizations and community leaders for the Youth Violence Prevention Summit -- a collaborative event centered on solutions, preventative strategies, and youth voice.

Saginaw Community Foundation Scholarships Open (Applications Now Live)

The Saginaw Community Foundation has opened its scholarship portal for the 2025–2026 academic year, providing hundreds of thousands of dollars in support for SPSD students.

Basketball Season Opened in the New Saginaw United Gym (Dec. 2)

Saginaw United Varsity Boys secured a win in the first-ever game played inside the new United Fieldhouse gymnasium — a historic moment for SPSD athletics and school spirit.

New Board Appointment (Dec. 3)

Vera Harrison

The Board of Education appointed Vera Harrison to fulfill the remainder of Trustee Mattie Thompson’s term.

Harrison previously served on the Board after being elected in 2018.

Saginaw United Earns MIHEART Safe School Designation

Saginaw United High School is one of 399 schools statewide to receive the MIHEART Safe Designation, recognizing excellence in cardiac emergency preparedness and student safety.
