As Saginaw Public Schools begins a new year, we do so with both reflection and resolve.

The district is mourning the loss of Board of Education Secretary Kevin Rooker, whose dedication to students, families, and public education left a meaningful and lasting impact. We extend our deepest condolences to his loved ones and all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
December, though short, was a very active month across the district—filled with learning, celebration, and community connection.
As we move into January, we look ahead to the close of the current marking period and the observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, moments that invite both academic focus and reflection on service, equity, and leadership.
Even during challenging times, the spirit of Saginaw Public Schools continues to shine through the achievements, partnerships, and stories that follow.
